Great Forest Drive – Tree Top Walk – William Bay – Elephant Rocks
Tal der Riesen
Nach dem wir in Walpole übernachtet hatten sind wir morgens ca. 10km weiter zum Valley of the Giants (Tal der Riesen). Ein Wald voller riesiger Urgetüme, Überbleibsel des Urkontinents Gondwana. Beeindruckende Baumsstämme, so groß, dass man daneben richtig mickerig wirkt. So müssen sich Ameisen fühlen. Viele sind innen hohl, verursacht durch Feuer, Pilze und Insekten. Ein Spaziergang auf dem angelegten Weg und dem Tree Top Walk auf 40m Höhe, lässt einen nur staunen.
William Bay
Fasziniert fahren wir weiter, genug Wälder und Bäume. Es ist Zeit das wir mal wieder ein bisschen Baden. Ca. 50km weiter kommt die William Bay. Wer hier einmal war, wird diesen Strand nicht mehr vergessen. Schaut euch die Fotos an. Bilder sagen manchmal mehr als Worte.
Für mich ist es der schönste Strand den ich je gesehen habe und ich habe schon einige gesehen. Übrigens mein Rücken ist wieder fast voll ok, ich war heute mal im Wasser zum Baden und fühle mich wie neu geboren.
Soviel für heut, morgen ist Australia Day da werden wir mal schauen wie die Aussis feiern. Thats it
Valley of the Giants
After a night in Walpole, we made it to the Valley of the Giants. A forest containing skyscraping Tingle-Trees, a form of eucalyphtus, that had been left from the times of the ancient Gondwana continent. Treetrunks, as big, that you get the instant feeling of beeing an ant or something else tinytiny crawling. Some of them trees are hollow, caused by fire, insects or fungus.
A Tree Top Walk is leading at more than 40m height through the wood, on an iron footpath, quite shaking, but awesome.
Enough green, we thougt and headed for beach. After 50km we got to William ay and the Eleghant Rocks. Unforgettable place, no matter on what beach one has been before. Pictures tell more than words can.
