In Assuan

In Assuan

Hallo Leute,

Zwei Tanks a 200 ägyptische Pfund, plus 100 Bakschisch, macht umgerechnet 50 €, echt lässig.

Da freut sich der Sparschwabe ????

Hi Guys.,

Currently we spend our time in a secluded spot on the banks of the Nile opposite Aswan.

The Sudan can only be reached with a ferry crossing over the reservoir and we need a few more days to clear the ticket for us and also the transfer of the trucks and the animal. Here is summer, 35 degrees ????

Diesel and talks

Yesterday we had the first negotiations with our „fixer“ on site. For our trucks would have to come extra an oversized bark from Wadi Haifa. On this then Maffi would have to travel. Three days … do not like us at all. At the same price, a convoy can also be made over land. Is also almost completely official. We will probably still wait for the Swiss Lukas, who came with us through the entry tariff. So first hold your feet still for a week …

Fuel, especially diesel is in short supply in southern Egypt. In front of all gas stations are queues of 20-50 vehicles. Our „host“ here in Adam Home has had his relationships played and we got a call at 11:30 pm. So on to the gas station. Of course, there were already waiting for the usual 40 suspects. Then a short phone call and the boss of the tank came and has, even while the big tank truck filled, a corridor for us freely. Two tanks a 200 Egyptian pounds, plus 100 baksheesh, makes the equivalent of 50 €, really casual.

The Sparschwabe ???? is looking forward to that
